Lucille Linville uses reimagined childhood objects to explore feelings of isolation, domesticity, and mortality, while finding comfort in the innocent playfulness and nostalgia these objects evoke. She grew up in the Pacific Northwest, starting early in her artistic endeavors making monotypes with her grandmother, Nancy Jo Mullen.

Sight Lines: Paintings by Anne Stagg

Florida State University Art Department faculty member Anne Stagg invites intuitive reflection with her acrylic paintings. As the artist explains, the exhibition title, Sight Lines, references not only the linear marks evident in the work, but beyond that the way we choose to see the world around us.

Inspired by New Zealand: Paintings by Cindy Triplett

Local artist Cindy Triplett shares her love of New Zealand. Watercolor and acrylic paintings animate personal glimpses of remote wonder, expressing gratitude and nostalgia for this special place.
The expressiveness and abstraction found in these paintings are the results of Cindy’s internalization of impressions gained through her travels in 2019 to the North and South Islands of New Zealand, known locally as Aotearoa, (the land of the long white cloud). They are reflections of her visual impressions and feelings abstracted from memory, such as of the ample quantity of fresh water, the changing atmospheric conditions, and the indigenous Maori culture. The work is lively, joyous, and captures the natural beauty of New Zealand. When viewing her work one can almost feel the wet cool water and the rays of sunshine. Cindy works in watercolor and acrylic media on paper.
Cindy Triplett was born and raised along the US West Coast and now lives in Ashland, Oregon. She has been painting since 1978. Cindy is most known for her landscapes and contemporary abstracts. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art with a Painting Emphasis and a Master’s Degree in Education from Southern Oregon University. Cindy has taught art education to secondary students at high schools in Oregon and California.
